Participation of socialist revolutionary V.S. Pankratov in election to the constituent assembly in the Yakut region

The paper discusses the participation of a well-known member of the party of socialists-revolutionaries, the commissar of the Provisional Government for the protection of the tsar's family in Tobolsk, Vasily Semenovich Pankratov in the election to the Constituent Assembly in the Yakutsk Region in 1917. Some episodes of his biography, connected with hard labor and exile to Yakutia were examined for the first time, evidence of his contemporaries is given. The course of the election campaign for the election to the All-Russian Constituent Assembly in the Yakutsk region is analyzed, the techniques and methods of the Yakutsk committee of the Socialist Revolutionary Party used in the election campaign and inter-party struggle are characterized. The study analyzed the results of the election to the All-Russian Constituent Assembly in the city of Yakutsk and the available data for the Yakutsk region. It is concluded that the participation of V.S. Pankratov in the election campaign, as well as his victory, in general, are characteristic of the activities of the Socialist Revolutionary Party in 1917, but at the same time they have their own special features, due to the remoteness of the national region from the center of Russia.
