Textbooks as the basis of the educational environment and the content and methodological support of training in the branch bachelor's degree

The problem of preparing a textbook as the main means of transmitting basic knowledge in a particular discipline is considered. The key functions are defined, the elements of the classical structural scheme of the university textbook are proposed and characterized. The article describes the need to prepare and publish textbooks of a new generation in the direction of "Library and information activities". Significant characteristics of specialized textbooks are proposed and highlighted, and universal requirements for writing and formatting of the text are formulated. Special attention is paid to the presentation of the completed series of textbooks "Bachelor of Library and Information Activities", which was initiated by the Educational and Methodological Council of Russian Universities for Library and Information Education in partnership with the publishing house "Profession" and reflects current knowledge in the main basic academic disciplines.
