The educational process in primary schools of Eastern Siberia is analyzed in this article. The features of positive and negative trends in the educational process and their influence on the increase of its effectiveness are revealed; the characteristics, structure and principles of the development of the educational process on the verge of XIX - XXth centuries in these educational institutions are identified.
