The doctrine of the soul in the philosophy of neoplatonism

The article deals with the concepts of the soul in the philosophy of Neoplatonism. The author dwells on the analysis of the views of Plotinus, Porforius, Iamblichus and Proclus. In the course of the study, the role of the soul in the ontological systems of the Neoplatonists is determined. The types and properties of the soul are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the correlation of the world soul and its individual manifestations. Anthropologically, the salvation of the soul is considered, which is achieved through catharsis and contemplation of the eternal ideas of the world mind.
