Satisfaction of the god’s truth in the book “A guide to confession” of Saint Nicodemus the Hagiorite

Research is devoted to studying the issue of reception saint Nicodemus the Hagiorite (1749-1809) scholastic doctrine of “satisfaction of the God’s truth”, which was formulated by the Catholic saint Anselm, Archbishop of Canterbury (1033-1109) in the monumental work “Cur Deus homo”. Te paper considers the views of contemporary Greek theologians on the effect of this doctrinal concept influence on the saint Nicodemus works, and can be traced directly influenced by the ideas of the Jesuit Paolo Segneri (1624-1694), expressed in his book “Il penitente istruito”, on the text of the “Guide to confession” of St. Nicodemus. In conclusion, the article assesses the doctrine of “satisfaction” from the standpoint of orthodox patristic theology.
