Job satisfaction: essence and assessment

The urgency of the study of the job satisfaction degree among the population in the Russian Federation associated with the ongoing structural changes in the labor market in the context of society digitalization is substantiated. Different approaches to defining the term "job satisfaction" is studied among those the subjective emotional and psychological character in the evaluative relation is highlighted. The analysis of the dynamics job satisfaction degree among the different age groups of the population of the country based on data from the Russia Longitudinal Monitoring Survey (RLMS-HSE) 2010 and 2019 is carried out. The results of the analysis show a positive trend in job satisfaction as a whole and according to particular parameters: labour remuneration, promotion opportunities and working environment. There is an equalization of the degree of job satisfaction among the different age groups. The most vulnerable age groups are identified, i.e. those who are at the age of 15-18 and 66 plus.
