The study presents the features of the impact of the carbon footprint on the ecological and economic situation in China. Currently, the country makes a significant contribution to the greenhouse effect due to emissions from the energy industry, transport systems and industrial enterprises. The article presents the features of this influence and their contribution to the overall impact of the country on the picture of the greenhouse effect. China is quite an ambitious country and plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. At the same time, China has now developed a system for reducing greenhouse gas emissions based on an emissions trading mechanism. This mechanism will encourage enterprises and organizations in China to effectively organize environmental activities in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
