Coal industry of Buryatia in 1960-1991

The article deals with the problem of the development of coal enterprises in Buryatia, mainly of Gusinoozerskaya mines, the main supplier of fuel. The main attention is paid to the production processes of coal extraction, to their peculiarities under the conditions of Buryatia The article drew attention to some details of default targets of coal enterprises, which had not been written before. The submitted economic indicators show the level of the development of the industry on the whole, as well as most of its weaknesses, which primarily include fluctuations in coal mining. The low quality of the coal became one of the reasons for the decline in profits from its selling. The article attempts to solve these problems. One of the most productive ways to increase the efficiency of coal mining was the transition from underground to open pit mining after construction of Kholboldzhinsky and Tugnuisky coal quarries. In this article the attention is paid to delay the construction of these quarries and ways to overcome it.
