The article deals with adoption of the class principles by the Soviet criminal law in the 1920-s. In particular, the author analyzes the theoretic and practical aspects of the class principles application in the judicial practices and the penalty system. It is concluded that the politicized society gave rise to the politicized law, the distinctive feature of which was the class approach to determination of the penalty system’s principles. It was the evidence of the fact that the ideology prevailed over the justice.
