Criminal legal problems of combating corruption in Russia

Purpose: To study the main problematic factors contributing to the emergence of corruption in Russia, as well as to develop measures to counter criminal manifestations of corruption. Methodology: Logical, historical-legal and formal-legal methods were used. Results: The article addresses the problems of the modern world related to corruption, which in turn poses a serious and pressing problem for almost all States. The preamble of the United Nations Convention against Corruption notes «the gravity of the problems and threats posed by corruption to the stability and security of society, which undermine democratic institutions and values, ethical values and justice and damage sustainable development and the rule of law», and that «corruption is no longer a local problem but has become a transnational phenomenon that affects the society and economy of all countries.» Novelty/originality/value: The article has certain scientific value, as it is one of the first modern attempts to comprehensively consider the problem of countering criminal manifestations of corruption through the lens of criminal law legislation.
