Criminal Procedure Mechanism of Participation of a Foreign Citizen’s Representative in Criminal Proceedings of the Russian Federation

This study focuses on the mechanism of participation of a representative of a foreign citizen in the criminal proceedings of the Russian Federation. It is noted that the absence of norms of the criminal procedure law regulating the mechanism of participation of a representative of a foreign citizen is a significant gap in the criminal procedure legislation, which may lead to violations of the rights and legitimate interests of participants in criminal proceedings. The article proposes ways to solve this problem, namely: to consistently amend and supplement the norms of the criminal procedure law regulating the mechanism of a representative’s participation, taking into account the existing legal status of a foreign citizen; based on a comprehensive and systematic study of the mechanism of a􀁢representative’s participation in criminal proceedings, to develop and propose the necessary legal norms that accurately regulate the mechanism of a representative’s participation in the criminal proceedings of a foreign citizen.
