The current state of assessment of threats to sanitary safety and protection of forests is considered. The analysis of international and domestic experience in monitoring negative impacts on forests, determining risks and trends in changing the state of forests is carried out. The need to improve the accuracy of the assessment of indicators and automation of the analysis of forest pathology information is noted. The long-term dynamics of indicators of sanitary and forest-pathological condition is analyzed: areas of the forest fund covered by fires; areas of foci of harmful insects and diseases; areas of sanitary and health measures performed; areas of dead plantings in general, as well as from insects, diseases, adverse weather and anthropogenic influences. The trend of deterioration of the sanitary and forest-pathological condition of forests, a steady increase in the areas of foci of diseases, stem pests, dead plantings has been established. To assess changes in the sanitary condition of forests, the negative effects of pathological natural and anthropogenic factors, long-term data of departmental and statistical reporting were used. The results obtained make it possible to increase the efficiency of planning and ensuring sanitary safety measures in forests, as well as improving methods for assessing threats to sanitary safety in forests through more complete use and automation of information analysis.
