The article focuses on the Ulan-Ude Medical School during the years of the Great Patriotic War. Drawing on archival materials from the State Archive of the Republic of Buryatia, it describes the daily realities of education and outlines the key challenges faced by the institution during wartime: the extension of the academic year, failure to meet curricular requirements in certain subjects, and frequent class disruptions. The author concludes that the educational process could not be fully implemented due to various wartime difficulties, including a shortage of qualified teaching staff, poor material conditions, and inadequate funding from the People’s Commissariat of Health of the Buryat-Mongol ASSR. Despite these obstacles, the school managed to persevere and continued training medical professionals to meet the needs of both the republic and the front.
