D. Bochvar’s three-valued logic, being a contemporary Fregean logic with the additional third truth-value ½, meaning “lie”, or, to be more precise, “indeterminacy”, turns out to be a valuable support for resolving some controversial issues related to the semantic interpretation of the universe of a work of art. Evidence of the validity of this idea is provided by analysis of the propositions on David Martín’s death and on the reality of Corelli’s existence, characters from C. Ruiz Zafón’s The Cemetery of Forgotten Books (2001-2016), as well as on the reality of the existence of the main character of U. Eco’s The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana (2004) etc.
