The universal education actions as a condition and mechanism of professional competences formation of a specialist- designer

This paper discusses the category “skills to learn” and a number of related concepts, the primary attention is paid the concept “action”, among them. There are some emphasized theoretical approaches to its essence definition, determined the didactic value of the actions in the structure “skills to learn”. In the context of contemporary requirements to training results there are revealed the following functions of universal education actions in the formation of professional students competences: as the invariant basis of a student's initiation into the academic work culture, as a mechanism (method) of new knowledge and skills acquiring and applying, as a necessary condition of mastering professional competences by an intended specialist. In the paper there is discussed the role and place of universal education actions in the competences formation of an intended designer.
