University complex as a factor for development of the region

Influence of a university complex on social and economic and cultural situation in the region is highlighted in the article. Basic factors for provision of regional development by means of development of professional education system are brought to light. Characteristics of the regional university complex, originated on the basis of the Orenburg State University, is represented.
