Disease management through patient involvement in treatment as an investment in human capital

Бесплатный доступ

Human health is a component of the individual human capital. In disease, the value of individual human capital decreases. We have developed a program of patient involvement to manage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It was developed after examining 82 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It involves 3 components: cognitive, motivational-behavioral, and emotional. The program was tested on 114 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The involvement of patients in treatment ensured the improvement of objective clinical parameters. Reduced frequency of day and night attacks, as well as reduced use of bronchodilators indicates that patients with chronic obstructive disease began to manage their disease. Disease management skill is an investment in human capital.
