Efficient use of resources is one of the key problems of the economy. Human resources represent the potential of a person in the activities necessary for the organization. It is difficult to overestimate their role in the economy. No production is possible without a person, and the development of human resource management characterizes the economic system itself. The article analyzes the state and development of the human capital management system. The article analyzes the evolution of human resource management in Russia, the specifics of management in Russia. The management of motivations is especially distinguished as one of the most important factors of production. The article analyzes the history of the development of motivation management in Russia, and also mentions the importance of long-term motivation. Methods for assessing human capital, investment in human capital, building up human capital are analyzed.
