Managing economic security of the subject of labor in the developing knowledge economy: forms of competence

Introduction. Under the conditions of the developing knowledge economy and a constant increment of the amount of knowledge and the differentiation of its quality in the sense of utility, knowledge becomes one of the economic safety factors. In this regard, the paper examines a new vision of managing the economic security of the subject of labor in the developing knowledge economy. Aims. To show possible forms of applying competence in managing the economic security of the subject of labor in the developing knowledge economy. Methods. The research rests upon theoretical provisions of knowledge economy, in particular, knowledge management theory, competence-based approach, as well as elements of the system and subject approaches. The research aims are addressed using a combination of methods: system analysis and synthesis, formalization. Results. The specificity of labor activity is considered from the point of view of the knowledge phenomenon and the definition of “knowledge of one’s own labor activity” is given as a set of knowledge of labor actions optimized its general and marginal utility and understood as a factor of economic security. The concept of the competence of economic security management of the subject of labor in the developing knowledge economy are formulated as an activity to meet the rising economic needs of the labor subject in a knowledge of their own labor activity. Forms of applying the competence of economic security management of the subject of labor in the developing knowledge economy have been developed, presented in a visualized form and described. Conclusions. This material can be used as a basis for the further development of the competence content with the view of a theoretical study into the possibilities of managing the economic security of the subject of labor in the developing knowledge economy, and also can be used in managerial training, or providing training to subjects of labor for economic security management.
