Mine waste management as an element of sustainable mining

Бесплатный доступ

Among the challenges associated with sustainable mining and waste management, the issues of depletion of non-renewable natural resources, waste recycling and land degradation gain special attention. Large extraction volumes of natural resources and waste generation threaten the needs of future generations and cause major damage to the environment. In this regard, industrial waste should be considered as secondary sources of valuable materials. Extracting these components from waste will increase the volumes of metals and minerals obtained, as well as reduce waste generation and long-term negative impacts caused by mining. The solution of this question requires the introduction of new cost-efficient methods for waste re-using and re-cycling, which will be used by industry.
