Advanced Landslide Risk Management in Uzgen District of Osh Region

Landslides in Kyrgyzstan pose a significant threat, affecting infrastructure and people's lives. The southern region of the country is characterized by a complex terrain and active tectonic activity, which contributes to a high probability of landslides. In mountainous areas, during the winter and spring periods, ground shifts often occur due to heavy precipitation, snowmelt or earthquakes. This phenomenon requires a comprehensive approach in studying, monitoring, and developing measures to prevent and minimize damage, including improving infrastructure, using modern forecasting technologies, and strengthening slopes.
