In the article, we analyze the state of the research problem, it allows us to define self-education as a form of organizing the cognitive process based on the need to achieve a particular level of development, and consider the social and pedagogical conditions for improving self-education as a system of work to create conditions for self-improvement, contributing to the initiation of cognitive independence and the activity of teachers.
