The article examines the management of the training process in highperformance sports from the perspective of a cybernetic approach that considers management as an informational decision-making process. Based on the analysis of the essence of information and its role in the management of living systems, the specifics of managing an athlete as an object of management are revealed. The central role of comprehensive monitoring of the athlete's condition (stage-by-stage, current, operational) is substantiated as a source of information for forming feedback. The conclusion is made about the need for dynamic, individualized load planning based on the athlete's condition using competitive activity modeling methods to minimize pedagogical errors and optimize adaptation processes.
