The article is devoted to the diachronic description and comparison of urbanonyms, motivated by anthroponyms, in the toponymic system of Veliky Novgorod. Particular attention is paid to the specifics and differences of these toponymic universals. In the article, similarities of motivation of urbanonyms and peculiarities of their semantics are described.
