Lessons of the soviet religious policy in the North Caucasus

The article is devoted to the study of experience of relations between state and religions in the Soviet Union and to its comparative analysis, which allows the author to reveal the current trends in the North Caucasus region which is characterized by religious specifics and a strengthening role of religion and religious organizations in political life of society.
