The level of digital competencies of Russian residents

The relevance of the article is due to the need to assess the level of formation of digital competencies of Russian residents, which will allow us to get a comprehensive idea of their relevance and everyday distribution. The data obtained make it possible to form an information base for decision-making by organizations implementing digital products, various training programs in the field of digital competencies, public authorities implementing programs for the development of the digital environment in various sectors of the economy. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the definition of approaches to the analysis and determination of the directions of development of digital competencies, including in the framework of higher education training programs. The results of the study show that to a greater extent Russians possess digital competencies related to the user functions of smartphones, at the same time, system skills related to the installation of software are spread to a much lesser extent. More than half of Russians consider the level of digital competence sufficient to work remotely, study and communicate. The level of digital competence proficiency is significantly differentiated depending on the age and place of residence of the respondents, the greatest formation of digital competencies is shown by young people living in large cities.
