The level and dynamics of unemployment as the main factor in the formation of migration recipient-partners of North Ossetia

The article is devoted to the study of the influence of the unemployment rate on the direction and intensity of interregional migration of the population. Based on the systematization of extensive statistical material, the scale and intensity of migration ties between the population of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the regions of Russia are analyzed. The indicators of the outflow of the population of North Ossetia-Alania to the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, which have long been its migration recipients, are considered in particular detail. A comparative analysis of the level and dynamics of unemployment in North Ossetia with migration recipient partners was carried out, which confirmed the correlation between unemployment rates and the migration attractiveness of Russian regions. The conclusion is made about the impact of unemployment on the formation of a negative balance of migration in the region. It is concluded that reducing the unemployment rate should become a priority in the migration policy of North Ossetia-Alania.
