Level and quality of life of the population of the Republic of Buryatia (based on the poll results of the Buryat population)

The level and quality of life are important indicators of social and economic development of the region. Meanwhile, the research of these categories is so diverse that there is no consistency in their definition and treatment until the present day. The authors of the article make an attempt not only define borders of those concepts, but also fix their meanings on the basis of their sociological research conducted among the rural and urban Buryat people. The research is carried out within the framework of the project «The Mongolian peoples in sociocultural space of cross-border of Mongolia and Russia (the Republic of Buryatia)» which participates in the grants’ contest of East Siberian State Institute of Culture.
