The yield of oil crops in relation to the systems of main tillage in crop rotation

The results of studying the systems of main tillage in VNIIMK’s (Krasnodar) long term stationary experiment (1971-2011) in leached weak-humus extra-potent heavy-loamy chernozem are considered. On the average during 4 rotations the highest level of crop yield of sunflower, castor-oil plant and soybean is reached by using intensive and allopelagic systems of main tillage in crop rotation. The use of minimum and superficial tillages results in decrease of crop yield of sunflower by 0.04-0.13 t/ha, castor-oil plant by 0.16-0.42 t/ha and soybean by 0.07-0.27 t/ha, respectively. In the fourth rotation the intensive (moldboard plowing) system of tillage is the most effective for winter rape and spring rape that provides crop yield at the level of 3.08 t/ha and 1.54 t/ha, respectively.
