Acceleration of the charged particle due to collisions in the field of electromagnetic wave

Collisions of the test charged particle with other particles in the field of the monochromatic electromagnetic plane wave are shown to lead to acceleration of the test particle in the direction of wave propagation. The value of acceleration has been calculated by the formula describing the Bolotovsky-Serov effect, and by averaging the model equation of motion. The possible application of theory in solar-terrestrial physics is described.
