Terms of digitalization of regions of the Volga federal district

This article is dedicated to the analysis of conditions that lead to differentiation of Volga Federal District regions in the ranking of digitalization. Evaluation of digitalization indicators developed by the National Research Institute of Technology and Communications, as well as the Moscow School of Management «Skolkovo», shows that these regions are located in different places of the rating, and also have their own preferred directions for development of digitalization. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended while determining the digitalization rating of the regions with a view to its further improvement, take into account the balance between supply and demand for digital technologies and services, the degree to which the main directions of digitalization are reflected in regional strategic documents, as well as the degree of implementation of smart city technologies by regional capitals.
