Conditions for the effectiveness of work on the formation of communicative competence in students of military educational institutions using translation methods

The article substantiates the relevance of updating approaches to the use of translation methods of teaching a foreign (English) language in military educational institutions. The definition of communicative competence and the characteristics of traditional methods of teaching a foreign language are given. It is shown that translation methods of teaching occupy a leading position, based on the results of the survey. It is noted that translation methods ensure the development of lexical and grammatical skills, but are not effective enough to form the communicative competence of students. The conditions under which the integration of communicative techniques and translation methods ensures the effectiveness of work on the formation of communicative competence of students are presented.
