Understanding the conditions for the development of a specialist in the pre-work period (studying at the university) from the standpoint of the activity approach is the main subject field of this article. Theoretical and practical approaches to the study of the topic are taken. The results of a specific sociological study conducted by the author of the article are presented in order to study the conditions for successful interaction, the formation of social relations during the training of students at the university (using the example of the Astrakhan State Technical University). The features and difficulties of the organizational and pedagogical conditions of the process under study are described.
