Terms of implementation smart city technologies in the biggest cities of the Volga federal district

This article is devoted to assessing terms that determine the differentiation of Smart сity technology implementation indicators in the largest cities of the Volga Federal District. The analysis of indicators developed by the National Research Institute of Technology and Communications showed that today the city-millionaires of the Volga Federal District have different conditions for Smart city technologies implementation. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that when determining the rating of digitalization of cities, it is necessary to take into account the financial security of Smart city technologies implementation, ratio of supply and demand for digital technologies and reflection of the digital economy goals in municipal strategic documents. Taking these conditions into account will explain the digital imbalances and evaluate the efforts of local governments in the development of Smart city technologies.
