Improved harvester to the plot combine for harvesting of sunflower breeding plots

Qualitative harvesting of sunflower seeds depends on many factors, including varietal traits of plants. Discrepancy of the technical means to these traits is associated causes to yield losses. The aim of a research was to improve the harvester to the plot combine that provides a full catching of sunflower stalks, regardless of its original height. As a result of a patent search and analysis of structures of the current harvesters, four variants of new feeders have been developed. Screw feeders with a varying pitch of winding were designed, produced and installed on the harvester. As a result of field tests it was established that a harvester complemented a screw with a decreasing winding pitch provides a more reliable technological process, a better catching of the stem length compared to screw feeders having a uniform winding pitch, and also excludes a dynamic effect, which positively affects the quality of its operation.
