Charter of the railways of the RSFSR of 1922: content and comparison with Russian law 100 years later

A comparative analysis of the peculiarities of the legal regulation of the railway transport of passengers and goods in the Charter of the RSFSR Railways of 1922 and the current version of the Charter of the Railway Transport of the Russian Federation is presented. Their similarities and differences are noted. It is stated that rail transport is still the most important component of the Russian economy, and, given its vast territorial spaces, the state holds in its hands not only legislative regulation in this area, but also the organization of transportation of both passengers and goods.
