The article delves into the analysis of trends in the field of sustainable development, intergenerational mobility and political polarization. Intergenerational mobility is an important indicator of the effectiveness of sustainable development policies and a factor in political response. The study aims to identify current trends and potential structural contradictions in the current development model. The results demonstrate that there is a positive trend towards achieving the sustainable development goals for most of the countries under consideration; intergenerational mobility is characterized by negative expectations about the well-being of the future generation; political polarization is also characterized by significant growth. The results of the study indicate structural contradictions between the results of sustainable development policy and social expectations, which is a prerequisite for the growth of political polarization. Solving these contradictions requires rethinking or proposing a new image of the future that can meet the demands for social justice.
