Sustainable development of regional clusters: the experience of Finland

Globalization implies the successful functioning of regional clusters as the source of the country''s competitive advantage. The article is devoted to the analysis of Finnish experience of the national innovation program of regional clusters. According to this program, regional expert centers are designed to select the most promising innovative projects, so these centers act conductors of state support for the clusters. Despite the predominantly dirigiste approach of cluster policy, government measures are designed to support the initiative of cluster members.
