Sustainable development of agriculture in the region during social and economic transformations

The current development of the agricultural sector at the regional level deserves a lot of attention due to the general trends in the development of the country's economy, as well as due to a number of socio-economic and political circumstances. Based on the adopted food Doctrine of Russia, it is the agricultural sector that provides the basis for maintaining a stable position on the world stage as part of the implementation of foreign policy activities while ensuring food inde-pendence. Modern conditions of social and economic transformations open up new opportunities for the introduction of innovative and high-tech technologies, which in many ways expands hori-zons in agricultural production. The article examines the basic parameters of the region development, highlights the key indicators of the agricultural sector which allowed us to draw conclusions about the positive dynamics. However, in order to increase sustainability, it is necessary to resolve a number of issues that negatively affect achieving better results in the agricultural sector of the region.
