Sustainability of Russian regions: trends and prospects in the development of small and medium-sized businesses

In modern conditions of the Russian economy development, small businesses become a priority direction of the state economic policy trend both in the short and long term. In this connection, a sample of regions of the Russian Federation was selected according to the degree of development of small and medium-sized businesses. The availability of various methods for assessing the effectiveness of government programs implemented in the Russian regions was elicited and recommendations on a uniform methodology use for assessing their effectiveness were given.
