Staphylococcus aureus resistance to antibacterial preparations

The microbiological study of methicillinum-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in patients with chronic osteomyelitis has been performed. It is revealed that within 5-year period (2001-2005) the number of patients with MRSA revealed increased from 20,5 % to 40 %. Apart from beta-lactam antibiotics MRSA strains were characterized by resistance to the action of antibacterial preparations of other groups. Vanquomycin and Theikoplanin had a pronounced effect on MRSA.
