Replacement of maxillofacial deffects by means of microsurgical autotransplantation

Short-term results of maxillofacial defect replacement for 43 cancer patients were analyzed. Complications such as microcirculation disorder and marginal flap necrosis occurred in 3 cases (16,7 %) and complete necrosis in 1 case (5,6 %) after microsurgical auto transplantation of vascularized tissue complexes (18 patients). When using traditional methods of plastic surgery (25 patients), suture failure and flap necrosis were observed in 9 cases (36 %).
