Negative- positive gradational sentences: their place in communication strategies of newspaper journalism

The article is devoted to the research of functional features of affirmation and negation in gradational relations. Language of newspaper articles has been used as a material for the research. Sentences including coordinating-gradational conjunction with a negative element are considered in the article as means of expressive syntax, and deep-semantic mechanism of an accented-affirmative meaning formation of these constructions is explored and their place in the language of modern newspaper journalism is defined.
