Grass snake moves to the north

In recent years, residents of Karelia began to report the finds of grass snakes on their household plots. The snakes are observed even to the north of the city of Petrozavodsk. It can be argued that over the past 10 years, the range of the common grass snake in Karelia has shifted to the northeast by 100 km.
