The article examines the place of an industrial design among objects of intellectual law in the Russian Federation. The author analyzes the statistics of filing applications for industrial designs and concludes that such an object is unfairly undervalued, since an industrial design is an important tool for protecting intellectual rights that should be used by modern business.
