Searching for a model travel guide: assessment of the Peterhof guides by local history experts and historians

The paper has considered travel guides on The Peterhof Palace and Park Ensemble as a history source that fixed rare facts from the past of the Imperial residence. The author made a review of research work carried out by local history experts V. Ardykutsa, V. Gushchin and A. Shabunin, and ascertained their contribution to study of Peterhof travel guides that made them accessible. The paper involved materials of local periodicals, the major part of which has been introduced into the academic intercourse for the first time.
