V.V. Rozanov on the crisis of culture and the organization of the national school

In 2022, the geopolitical confrontation between Russia and the West reached its peak. Today there is a struggle for a new world order. Moreover, in this post-global, multipolar world of Russia, it is important to defend its independence, uniqueness, subjectivity. For our state, these are primarily civilizational, existential challenges. The socio-cultural and political processes taking place in modern Russia have revealed a number of ethical and spiritual and moral problems that did not previously have such a degree of significance and urgency. In a situation of searching for new value orientations, a person often turns to the past, including the rich Russian philosophical and pedagogical heritage. Russian Russian thinkers have made a significant contribution to the understanding of the main ways of development of Russian culture, as well as to the analysis of the causes of the crisis of education and ways out of it. The most interesting and fruitful in this aspect are the ideas of the original philosopher, publicist and writer Vasily Vasilyevich Rozanov, whose work is a kind of encyclopedia of the spiritual life of Russia in the late XIX - early XX century. The ideas presented by him on the education of a person of culture, on issues of national education, have not lost their relevance for modern education. The article reveals V.V. Rozanov's views on the causes of the crisis of domestic education at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries, and also examines his ideas about building a school on national grounds, which is especially important today for preserving one's own cultural and national identity.
