The current Precambrian stratigraphic chart of the Volga-Urals Petroleum Region requires correction based on new deep drilling data acquisition and revision of historical data. Contradiction between the volumes of Borodulinsky and Kudymkarsky type sections was found. As one of the options to solve the problem, the authors propose to increase the Borodulinsky group volume out of the Kochevskaya Formation identified by A.V. Kutukov back in 1966. The authors propose using a new version of Vendian series correlation chart for eastern parts of Volga-Urals Region and Urals. Successful prediction of hydrocarbon accumulations should be based on correct correlation of formations using a detailed stratigraphic chart. In addition, an analysis of geochemical studies of core taken from deep wells and Vendian rocks the come out to the day in Urals was carried out. On the platform, the sediments occur at depths favourable for petroleum-type hydrocarbon generation. Organic Matter presence is found throughout the Vendian section, which bears features of both migration and syngenesis nature. The high Organic Matter content in the Vendian sediments is indicative of their possible contribution to petroleum potential, including the overlying part of the section
