Eternal Glory to the Soldiers of the Great Patriotic War

The article investigates the history of a single family - the Tarmakhanovs - whose members took part in the Great Patriotic War. The eldest brother - K. E. Tarma-khanov, had also served during World War I in rear-area duties. Based on the available information, the article traces the military service of the Tarmakhanov family members: the units they served in, their military ranks, and the awards they received. The article draws on personal sources, particularly the memoirs of E. E. Tarmakhanov, a professional historian who preserved detailed accounts of his wartime experiences. However, data on the other family members is scarce, and the specifics of their service - especially the fronts on which they fought - remain largely unknown. The collected material presents a typical story of a Soviet family. All four brothers took part in combat and all returned from the front.
