Although the attention to Spanish painting also belongs to the culture of romanticism, only the symbolists for whom Velazquez possesses the same properties as contemporary painting by him were able to comprehend the specificity of Velazquez as an artist: seriality, specification of the artist's manner outside of special stylistic mannerism, impressionistic techniques for conveying characters. The cult of Velazquez implied an understanding of him as an artist-life-builder who creates both a gallery of works and a gallery of autonomous characters. From this ideological attitude came both new possibilities for describing Spanish painting, with attention to details and texture, as well as some limitations due to the reduction of the artist's world to the world of characters. At the same time, the development of Velazquez's heritage vision in Russian poetry was crucial for the lyrics to be apt to describe not only the plots and style, but also the texture, the specifics of the ratio of the background and secondary elements, the serial character and the details of detail using seriality, which all expanded expressive capabilities of Russian poetry. The perception of the originality of representations in the work of Velazquez slightly changed, albeit very locally, some of the genre priorities of Russian lyrics. The study of the breakdown of poetic genres allows us to understand how poetry can speak not only about individual works of art, but also help cultural studies to assemble the principles of new culture.
